The Farm Advisor at Redfern Farm Services is responsible for providing support and knowledge about agronomic products to current and potential customers. The focus of this position is to provide detailed knowledge of how the various products and services of Redfern Farm Service’s work and when/how they should be applied. The Farm Advisor is assigned a territory that they will be solely responsible for. The territory for this position includes both Minnedosa and Neepawa.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provide professional support, product information, crop advice, and consultations to farmers.
- Take strategic ownership/leadership of the sales and customer service process by developing and maintaining positive relationship to increase overall sales volume.
- Oversee and manage marketing activities including advertising, cold calling, and customer contact pre/post sale.
- Provide professional level services including crop and fertility planning, soil sampling, and sharing knowledge and awareness of new trends and technologies in the industry.
THE QUALIFICATIONS YOU NEED:
- Background in agriculture and related experience is required.
- Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships.
- Ability to work independently, effectively manage time and be self motivated.
- Strength in the application and use of industry specific and productivity software (Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, other industry programs)
- Must have a valid driver’s license
