Job Description

MAIN PURPOSE:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Electrical / Mechanical Installer collaborates with the install team to assemble, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical components in all types of emergency vehicles.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install automotive power distribution systems, wiring harnesses, fire pumps, plumbing, and other electrical and mechanical components in emergency vehicles.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and test various electrical systems.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, including electrical schematics independently.
  • Maintain accurate records, find efficiencies while respecting quality, and contribute ideas to the company.
  • Focus on maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Maintain a clean, and organized workspace or assembly station.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Electrical power and mechanical knowledge and experience is required.
  • 12-volt power distribution and automotive electrical knowledge is an asset.
  • Strong mechanical problem solving and HD mechanics experience preferred.
  • Experience with industry specific software or ability to learn new technology.
  • Ability to be analytical and solve complex and unusual problems.
  • Ability to take initiative with a high level of independent judgment.
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively with co-workers, management, outside organizations and clients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
