Job Description
MAIN PURPOSE:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Electrical / Mechanical Installer collaborates with the install team to assemble, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical components in all types of emergency vehicles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install automotive power distribution systems, wiring harnesses, fire pumps, plumbing, and other electrical and mechanical components in emergency vehicles.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and test various electrical systems.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, including electrical schematics independently.
- Maintain accurate records, find efficiencies while respecting quality, and contribute ideas to the company.
- Focus on maintaining a safe work environment.
- Maintain a clean, and organized workspace or assembly station.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Electrical power and mechanical knowledge and experience is required.
- 12-volt power distribution and automotive electrical knowledge is an asset.
- Strong mechanical problem solving and HD mechanics experience preferred.
- Experience with industry specific software or ability to learn new technology.
- Ability to be analytical and solve complex and unusual problems.
- Ability to take initiative with a high level of independent judgment.
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively with co-workers, management, outside organizations and clients.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
