Our Opportunity

Environmental Consulting Solutions is looking for a Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer who will assist with growing their group of Waste Management and Remediation Specialists.

The successful candidate will have opportunities to hold various leadership roles, including Senior Project Manager, Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer, Senior Waste Management Specialist, Environmental Team Lead as well as many others. We are looking for demonstrated experience with Waste Management Systems, Landfill Cell and Transfer Station Design, Civil/Environmental Earthwork Projects, Phase I/II/III Environmental Site Assessments, and Environment Permitting/Approvals. Notable experience should include a senior leadership role delivering engineered design plans for new landfill cells, leachate evaporation ponds, waste transfer stations, landfill closures as well as overseeing the civil earthworks associated with the aforementioned. The ideal candidate will have applied experience with Manitoba Waste Management Facilities Regulation 37/2016, Standards for Landfills and Transfer Stations in Manitoba, with relevant experience in remediation projects/environmental site assessments (ESAs).

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering, or other related disciplines along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience – ideally in the Canadian consulting environment.
    In-depth working knowledge and experience with relevant municipal, provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines and regulatory permitting and approval requirements.
  • Experience in the engineering design and construction oversight of landfills, waste transfer stations while ensuring compliance with federal and or provincial regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
  • Relevant experience in environmental site assessments (ESAs), and remediation projects.
  • Proven experience in writing successful proposals, work plans and business development.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment at a project management level (at a minimum) or related management roles.
  • Successful project delivery as a Project Manager or Environmental Lead for Waste Management Systems, Landfill and Transfer Station Design and Construction oversight.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and regulatory permitting and approval requirements related to Waste Management Systems in Manitoba.
  • Experience in business development activities including client development and responding to RFPs.
