Construction Technician

Job Description

JCJ Residential Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Technician to join their team. In this role, you will perform a variety of residential renovation, repair, and maintenance projects, including finish carpentry, drywall, flooring, doors and windows, bathroom renovations, and general construction work. Working directly with homeowners, you will deliver high-quality craftsmanship while maintaining a professional, customer-focused approach on every job site.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Perform a variety of residential repairs, maintenance, and renovation tasks, including drywall, flooring, bathroom renovations, window and door installation, finish carpentry, and general construction work.
  • Support and collaborate with lead technicians to complete projects safely, efficiently, and with a high standard of quality.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications, building codes, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites, including protecting client property and completing thorough clean-up upon project completion.
  • Comply with all workplace safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate professionally with clients, team members, and supervisors to provide excellent service and ensure projects run smoothly.
  • Document work completed, including taking before-and-after photos and providing updates on project progress, concerns, or material requirements as needed.
  • Assist with project planning and material identification when requested.
  • Represent JCJ Residential Services in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  • Oversee the work of labourers and junior technicians on assigned projects, providing direction, training, and quality control as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Experience in residential renovations; finish carpentry, door and window installation/repair, drywall, and general construction.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage/complete projects safely and independently.
  • Professional demeanor with strong customer service skills and communication.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of performing construction-related duties, including lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions.
