Bring building concepts to life. As a Draftsperson, you’ll transform sketches and design ideas into detailed construction and shop drawings for a variety of building projects. Working closely with engineers, clients, and project teams, you’ll create accurate, coordinated, and buildable drawing packages that support projects from concept through construction. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D construction drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and schematics using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Convert conceptual sketches, engineering designs, and project specifications into accurate and complete technical drawings for commercial, industrial, and agricultural building projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, estimators, and site personnel to ensure design and project requirements are accurately reflected in construction documents.
- Work collaboratively with the Engineering team to ensure all drawings comply with Manitoba Building Code requirements, applicable regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Review and revise drawings based on project changes, field conditions, client requests, and regulatory requirements while supporting construction teams with drawing-related inquiries.
- Conduct site visits, participate in project meetings, and contribute to project coordination from design through construction.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Diploma or Certificate in Drafting Technology, Architectural Technology, Engineering Design, Civil Technology, or a related field.
- Preference will be given to candidates that hold a Certified Engineering Technologist designation through CTTAM
- Minimum 3 years of drafting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD & Revit)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building materials, and construction terminology.
- Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil drawings.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and ability to travel to project sites as required.
