COMPANY SUMMARY:
Dowse Manufacturing offers a full line of metal fabrication services, utilizing state of the art equipment to machine what its customers need, when they need it. Services include forming, laser cutting, tube laser cutting, plate rolling, and welding services. Located in Cartier, MB, 15 kms west of Winnipeg, they have been manufacturing since 2002 and have become one of the most trusted metal fabrications in Manitoba and across North America.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fabrication technician is responsible for adhering to the shipping / manufacturing schedule and ensuring that all parts are fabricated to spec and prepared for final shipment or pick-up by the customer. The technician will also be responsible for ensuring all safety standards are always met.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Manual picking / sorting fabricated parts postproduction
•Ensuring that all required parts for assembly are present
•Ensuring quality control standards are met
•Adherence to production and shipping schedules
•Confirming products information matches work orders
•Packing products for shipment
•Ensuring that workspace and shipping area is kept clean
•Reporting any product defects
•Adhering to safety standards
•Working well as a team member to complete tasks in a timely manner

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Experience working in a manufacturing environment
•Completion of secondary school an asset
•Ability to read and interpret work orders
•Ability to work safely and able to follow all safety guidelines
•Excellent work ethic
•Strong attention to detail
•Physically able to lift 50lbs
•Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

WORKING CONDITIONS:
•Manufacturing environment
•Standing for long periods of time on a concrete floor
•Moving and lifting large pieces of metal
•Lifting 50 lbs and more at time
•Ability to work in a loud environment
