Job Description
The Regional Manager (Manitoba) will be responsible for growing the company’s business in the territory for safety relief valves, control valves, instrumentation and valve repair services. The promotion of services (both in-shop and field repair) should in turn open up opportunities for the sales of new product.
The highly technical nature of the company’s products frequently results in the involvement of a number of decision makers within an industrial company ranging from purchasing, maintenance, engineering, projects and operations. An ability to guide the salesforce to network across these organizational structures and for them to develop a strong level of confidence with the decision makers will be important to the manager’s success.
The position is based at CVE’s service center located in Brandon.
Primary Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the position are:
- Manage the inside and outside sales teams and guide them to meet the company’s sales targets and the expectations of the manufacturers that are represented in the territory.
- Develop the annual sales plan for the territory and work with the sales representatives on its implementation.
- Develop strong relationships with the major industrial accounts across the territory and generate a high level of awareness of Contro Valve and its products with the important decision makers.
- Develop opportunities to quote products and services to the major accounts and drive these quotations to successful sales orders. Where necessary, contact manufacturers to obtain technical and pricing information that would be required to prepare the quotation.
- Manage shop activities including the preparation of quotations, staffing, work load planning and inventory control. Ensure that all customers with valves that cannot be repaired receive a quotation for a new valve
- Be fully trained on the application of all the company’s and/or supplier’s CRM & ERP tools for lead management, quotations, sales order entry, purchasing and work flow. Make sure that the information in the CRM is updated on a regular basis.
Skills and Knowledge
- Several years’ experience in sales development, preferably in an industrial environment.
- Experience in the management of a team of sales representatives and support staff.
- A basic understanding of the major manufacturing/process industries in the region and how they operate.
- Ability to network and build personal relationships with decision makers.
- Ability to understand customer relationship management tools and guide the local team on its use.
Education/Experience
- Diploma from a technical college in instrumentation or a related technical subject, or a university degree in a scientific or commercial field of study.
- Experience working in an Industrial company or a sales organization providing products and service to process industries.
- Ability to develop a sales strategy to identify opportunities and close sales contracts.
- Experience in the management of a team of people
