Rob is a strategic problem-solver who loves business challenges and working with his clients to find ever better ways to recruit, develop, and retain talent. His goal is to exceed his client’s expectations by developing a strong knowledge and understanding of the client’s business and operational landscape to enable support on whatever front is requested. Having worked and lived abroad Rob has a well-honed ear for listening to other’s point of view and perspectives. Along with his problem solver approach, deep conversations with clients and job seekers are the key to his success in finding the right candidate for his clients’ unique needs.

Rob who?

Rob is a Brandon-based entrepreneur and HR professional with a wealth of multinational, fortune 500 experiences. Rob graduated U of M with his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree and started his career working at Kraft Food’s European HQ in Zurich Switzerland. His career focused on financial analysis, project management, IT and business process improvements, and took him throughout Europe, Asia, and Australia. Rob is a certified Lean Six Sigma and Strategic Planning practitioner who’s favorite quote sums up his approach to solving client’s needs perfectly: “No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thinking!” (Voltaire).

Rob became co-owner in West-Can HR Solutions in 2017. With his broad background, Rob provides West-Can HR clients with a unique perspective when conducting client organizational reviews, recruitment, process improvement support, and strategic planning. Rob is also our go-to expert in information technology and sales / marketing recruitment. Rob also has a strong background in Non-profit management and board governance and enjoys supporting our non-profit sector with his valuable insights and governance tips. In 2021, Rob joined the CARM’s (Construction Association of Rural Manitoba) Board of Directors and actively participates on their Media & Promotions and their Education & Training committees. In 2023, Rob was also elected to the Brandon Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Rob is married to Paula, and together they enjoy spending time with their daughter, family and dogs. Rob is an avid reader of mindless spy-genre fiction and enjoys hiking, woodworking, and travel. Thus far, Rob has lived in 11 countries and has travelled to more than 30 others.
